I'm in a slightly different boat, so I'll explain my circumstance and reaction to the new Waves business model: But more importantly, you've done Waves users a large favor, which they definitely deserve. You've done Waves a large favour, they may not be deserving of. Once that expires in 1-12 months depending, then for a second machine you have to subscribe. Oy vey.Īs you probably know already, we don't get a Second License on the older versions of course, that's only for the remaining life of v14 plugins that have the Update plan going. So-if you wanted to deactivate and use an older plugin on a different machine later, you'll have to repeat the above steps to run the older version 13 of WC, deactivate, then run the above instructions again on the new machine to get them installed and activated with v13. Only v14 that are within the update plan are selectable: However, one catch: In v14 of Waves Central, my older plugins do show up and have the green activated checkmark, but they are NOT selectable, they actually have diagonal lines through them showing they can't be changed. BUT, I fired up Cubase again and the older plugins still all work fine. Next, I launched v13 of Waves Central again, and as expected it automatically pulled down the latest v14 with the new EULA that we have to agree to, and replaced v13 on my PC. I opened Cubase 12 Pro and verified that the older Waves stuff now works. I wasn't about to give up v10 Abbey Road Plates or v13 API and SSL EQs and compressors, lol. I did nearly all of mine just to have them installed and usable.
